Find your state
How it works
Step 1
Pick your area
Choose the state and area code your customers call from.
Step 2
We request it
Our team requests the number during setup.
Step 3
Toll-free if needed
If that code is taken or cannot be approved, we set up a toll-free number so you are not left waiting.
Local numbers depend on what is available when we set yours up, and some numbers cannot be approved for a business. If the area code you want is not available, we set up a toll-free number so your line still goes live.
Questions
- Can I get any area code I want?
- Not always. Area codes run short in busy areas, and some numbers cannot be approved for a business. We tell you up front, and if your first choice is not available we set up a toll-free number instead.
- What is the difference between a local and a toll-free number?
- A local number carries the area code of a place, so it looks familiar to people calling from there. A toll-free number starts with 800, 833, 844, 855, 866, 877 or 888 and is not tied to a place. Both work with Corevo CommandCenter.
- What is an area code?
- An area code is the first three digits of a U.S. phone number. It started as a way to route calls to a region, and a busy region can have more than one area code layered over the same cities.
